Is Still Often Overlooked<br><br>Today, I will explain how ADHD is still often overlooked.<br><br>Many cases show that ADHD is the primary condition, yet it is missed, and only secondary disorders, such as depression, panic disorder, anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, or borderline personality disorder, are treated.<br><br>The medications frequently used for these secondary disorders include antidepressants, antipsychotics, anxiolytics, sleep aids, and mood stabilizers.<br><br>However, when ADHD is the underlying cause, treating only the secondary symptoms with medication may do more harm than good. The side effects of these medications often become more prominent, and since the primary issue remains unresolved, prolonged use of these treatments can lead to other complications.<br><br>The primary symptom of inattention in ADHD can be easily missed unless a detailed developmental history is taken and supported by psychological testing for supplementary diagnosis.<br><br>Medications for ADHD can be tailored to address the individual\u2019s specific difficulties. Rather than simply neutralizing negative symptoms, these treatments aim to elevate functioning from a baseline of zero to a positive state, allowing individuals to reach their full potential when used effectively.<br><br>Unlike medications in other medical fields, psychiatric medications are challenging to measure in terms of improvement using blood test data or other quantifiable measures.
